Thinking of security with a convertible has anyone had any experience with these security bars that go on the steering wheel , if sobwould anyone recommend one or something similar I have read about the stop- loc pro has anyone tried it out there

I remember a product test some years back , where a convicted car thief ( now reformed ) tried to break into a car that had aftermarket security devices fitted ( 5th gear I think )
from memory the steering wheel mounted stop-loc was the hardest, and even after half an hour he still hadn't removed it, where the others all failed within a few minutes
but as ever , do your research before buying,

Modern car security is hugely improved from around 1999. Our Jags operate on a rolling code security system. As I recall, the early S-type had around 33,000 combinations which rolled on after each owner use. So even if someone cloned your key fob signal, it became useless as it changed for the next entry and start sequence. Without one of your keys and fob in their hand, thieves will find themselves hard pushed to nick your car!
