Air Bags

Postby Phil 18 » Sun Nov 06, 2016 10:00 pm

Having a 2004 model XK8 2.4 , I am curious to know the life span of the air bags. Is this something that should be check or changed for new? Just curious to know.

well,

its a tricky one

advice is that they are changed every ten years, however, no one has yet been forced in the UK to change one for MOT reasons,

so at the moment, don't worry too much about it unless you really are concerned it wont go off in an accident, if you are , then cough up the £800 or whatever it is for a new one, but there wont be any as they have all been on the shelf for the same amount of time yours has been in the car , if you see what i mean

Thanks BB I will take your advice on that. Just always had that fear of the pillow appearing at speed.
