Rear repeater lens covr

How do I remove the rear repeater from my xk8 Year 1998. It is gummed up and going moldy and I would like to take it off a clean it.

Where fitted, the rear side marker lamp is removed by:

Working under the bumper, disconnect the connector from the back of the lamp.
Compress one of the spring clips (one towards each end) and carefully remove the lamp.
