Dash board lights

Hi I am new to the club just over a year ago I got an 2002 xk8r just after warranty ran out it keeps coming up on the dash as check rear lights /overdrive not available, I have checked the lights and they still work even with this fault ,would anyone now how to cure this fault. many thanks

Often if you disconnect the battery both terminals then hold them together for ten seconds it is enough to reset faulty warning lights. You will need to reset your windows after battery disconnect. Send window down hold until you hear click then continue to hold for ten seconds then send back up. If the battery disconnect does not work find yourself a good local specialist who will be able to fault check.

This probably won't be the only time you get a dashboard light and message!

I would go with battery disconnect as suggested but buy yourself a code reader. I- soft do suitable ones.

I have had a raft of lights and messages and this was the best new " tool" I have bought for some time !!

Just a thought on the problem, check the brake light switch connection too.
