Electric Mirrors

Postby clivesaunders » Fri Mar 06, 2015 1:47 pm

Hi Hi
I have an advisory on last MOT '... Nearside Obligatory mirror deteriorated...' the mirror has taken on a darkish tint.
Can just only the actual mirror be replaced...
How easy is it to 'pop-open' the outer casing and replace...
As I dread to think what the cost of a complete new mirror is ! !
Comments & suggestions please

The mirrors are quite easy to change you just gently prize the glass out they clip in - They are more tricky to get back in but can be done with patience. I have just changed my complete door mirror unit including the glass.
My advice would be to pop the back cover off when you remove the glass as it will make putting the new glass back in easier as you can see through the back of the door mirror where the glass clips line up - then the back cover just clips back on
Hope this helps
Cheers
Ian
