XKR or XK8?

I have just purchased a 1999 Jaguar and I have a question

The V5 from the DVLA list it as a XKR Auto but the back of the car is badged as an XK8. Were all these models of that era badged as XK8 or would it be correct to replace the badge . Engine size is 3996 cc

Any advice would be appreciated

Seems like an obvious question but do you have a supercharger under the bonnet??
As far as I am aware the XK8 and XKR's were badged seperately at that time... maybe the boot has had to be replaced???
Hope you enjoy the car though, they are fantastic..

I think the badge may have been correct and the registration documents are wrong as the car was previously owned by a friend who had it new but passed away recently. The invoice from the dealer states it is an XK8 and it does not have a supercharger. Thanks for the advice, it is a superb car & i look forward to bringing it to the next Surrey JEC meet

Our VIN Decoder indicates your XK as a 1999 XK8 4.0 Coupe with Nicasil Liners

It would assist me if you could either update the Register Entry or let me have the 3 Character Paint Code & the 3 & 2 Character Trim Codes.
