O.K. Bleasie - As I am old and unworried about being embarrassed, I'll be the first to ask.
What/where register? Give us a clue.
(Standing by for hoots of derision...!)

The public /private split is between those who do not wish their data to be visible (open to public view) and those who'd rather submit their cars' details anonymously. The more entries we can get, the better will be the statistical accuracy of the information available to members. So, hopefully, by encouraging all members, including those not keen to display their cars' details in public, we will gather the maximum amount of information. Mike.
Hi Guys,
Thanks to all that have registered their XK's
The private entry would appear to be left over from the testing we did before the launch. I'll check it out & do any correction as part of the validation process.
Anyone having any difficulty can contact me (contact details on the XK8 Forum Page Header in the Club Mag or e-mail me at a.a.jones@blueyonder.co.uk)) & I'll enter the details for you. We have made some minor changes to the Registration Form since the first few entries so hopefully the process should be painless!
I have left off chasing up the anomolies found until after the festivities.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year
Allan

Where would I find the original spec. for my car (trim/colour/extras)? I have the original service book but this provides fairly basic info. I know it's blue/leather and shiny and goes well but that's about it!
Hi Painter
The Jaguar Factory will tell you the original spec. of your car (Cruise Control, Heated Seats, Sat. nav. etc.). The data we are trying to collect is Style (Classic/Sport). Facia (Birds Eye Maple / Burr Walnut / Piano Black etc.) Trim Code & Paint Code. These codes are shown on a label on the passenger side (assuming UK spec.) 'B' pillar by the lock catch - you should see it when the door is opened. There is a link to a photo on the Register.
Any problems give me a call - my details are on the header page in the Cluib Mag.
Regards

How simple do you want it John!
It takes less than 5 minutes to complete the basics if you have the documentation (v5) in front of you!
The database allows you to create an entry & update or change the field data at a later date.
There are optional fields in the database for members to detail the Jaguar & aftermarket parts that makes your Xk unique.
As you know my original ideas had to be reduced to bring the Register in line with the others already running in the Club (there's not much difference between the xk & the xj-s Register).
Hopefully we'll get more entries soon

Hi Damian
The Paint Code you have coincides with the only 2 sources of Paint Code listings for the XK8/R range that I have tracked down (both USA) giving the colour Anthracite. However, a Jaguar information sheet (with some unexplained discrepencies) from 1997 has a different code (PDX).
I have been unable to find any Trim Code listings for the XK8/R range. So it's down to me to collate all the information I can & hopefully I'll break the code! The more information people give me the better the chance I'll succeed. The Trim can be determined by comparing your XK with the sales literature for your model year. Be careful of using scanned documents as some of the colours as so similar.
