Throttle Body and Pipes

Postby Sid » Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:22 am

Can someone give me a guide to where this is and which parts require cleaning/checking?
I've read lots about it and have a lumpy idle at times. Wondering if this could perhaps be the cause.
Where is it in the engine bay and how is it best cleaned? Any specific products to be used?

Thanks.

Hi

Have you seen www.maxperformancecars.com ?

There are a few excellent articles written up there, cleaning TB etc is one very good one. Look in the articles area.

Re: http://www.jaguarxkperformance.com/

I get prompted for a username and password, and there is no apparent register button...any ideas?

David, I followed your link and faced the same login issues, ie I couldn't! Funnily enough, I'm sure I read this article a little while ago. However, I'm left wondering whether a domestic change in the meanwhile from XP to Vista has had an adverse effect. Hmm? Mike. :?

Hi David, Yes I'd seen the Maxperformance article earlier. It's good with clear instructions. I only wish the throttle body on my XJR6 was as easily accessible but unlike the XJR, my XK8 doesn't need the job doing at the moment. Mike.
