XK8 2004 Clock Not Keeping time

Bought my XK8 in August 2019. Dashboard clock kept time. Over the 2020/21 winter it stopped keeping time despite the battery connected to a trickle charger.
Battery appears to be in good condition. No issues
in starting the engine.

Any suggestions on possible cause and fix will be greatly appreciated.

You say the battery 'appears to be in good condition' but do you actually know with any certainty? It is a good piece of advice with these cars to change the battery at 5-years old as the quiescent drain can make it problematic. The clock may be the least of your worries as an aged battery can start to cause a number of 'alarming issues' which do tend to be spurious and disappear with a decent / new battery installed. Starting the engine is not a good indicator that the battery is 'good'. Search the Forum and you will find lots of advice regarding battery voltages when fully charged and after set time periods.

Thank you for the advice. I will look to replace the battery and will let you know if that fixes the problem.
