Nik Antcliffe

Regular readers of the bulletin board will be very familiar with the good advice given by Nik, probably our single most prolific contributor. Hence, it is with a heavy heart that I have to record Nik's untimely death last Sunday evening. A quick glance at the BB will reveal Nik was posting shortly before he left us.

Nik will be sorely missed by those who knew him and by many others who didn't. His advice, given freely, was always first class. Many members will have seen his superb 4 litre antigua blue coupe displayed on the Forum stand at Newby Hall or Weston Park. Nik was a great example of a real hands-on enthusiast for the XK8.

Our thoughts are with his wife, Jan.

such sad news, I heard about this yesterday whilst travelling back from a JEC meeting, Nik was a lovely lovely guy, warm, genuine and knowledgable, always keen to chat and impart his vast wealth of information, he will be missed

Devastating news to hear of Nik's sudden and untimely death last Sunday night (27 Jan 2013). A very popular, good natured and knowledgeable member of both the JEC and XKEC who was always ready to help anyone with excellent advise and always with good humor.

I first met Nik at the JEC Northern Day at Thoresby Hall in the summer of 2006 soon after he bought his beloved XK8. Over the years he became a dear and trusted friend.
My heart goes out to his lovely wife Jan and family.
Rest in peace my friend you'll be sadly missed but not forgotten.

Nik was highly respected by us all. His knowledge was superb and his workmanship outstanding.

I learned of his passing yesterday and was shocked and saddened. I felt it appropriate to raise a glass to him last night.

A very big friend to us, truly one of the Jaguar "Greats" and never to be forgotten.

Only a month ago Nik and I agreed to meet in Portsmouth when he next visited one of his family members.

I feel a tremendous sense of loss.

I am a very new member to this XK8 site and have post a few questions about my own vehicle.
Nik always managed to find time to make a comment or a suggestion to my queries which I was very grateful for. He was obviously very knowledgeable and experienced and willing to share that with others. A very sad and tragic loss.

Like most of you, I was stunned to hear of the death of Nik Antcliffe last week.

My deepest condolences to Jan.

GrandTourer has been able to find out the arrangements for Nik’s funeral next week.

Karl (GrandTourer) is currently having difficulties getting on line so I’ve volunteered to be post box.
