New - XK8/R & XK Register ready for use

The XK8/R Register is now online and we would like you to enter your XK8, XKR or XK’s details.

Compared to some of the Club’s Registers we are in the lucky situation that the vehicles are not very old and the information we want to gather is readily available.

The key purpose of the Register is to be able to help owners of our cars in future years. Who knows where Jaguar's Records will be in 30 years or even whether they will continue to exist? Who knows what mechanical maladies we will need to resolve and how much information we will need to identify affected vehicles? By starting to collect information now the task of keeping these fine cars running will be made that much easier.

Over and above the basic detail of VIN and engine numbers it will be valuable to collect paint & trim codes too. With the passage of time, vehicles will have changed hands many times and any references to the original colours may have been lost (eg a Vehicle Registration Document listing RED could mean Carnival, Phoenix, Salsa, Radiance or any future new shade of Red); and quite possibly, vehicles may lose the Jaguar applied trim label. Some confusion already exists. When I was trying to de-cipher the Colour Code LHK (Quartz in the UK) it was referred to as Gray Green Metallic on a USA paint supplier's website.

Before starting the data entry process please have your Vehicle Registration Document(s) to hand and make a note of the Paint code (3 characters) and Trim code (3 characters & 2 characters). These codes are displayed on a label fixed to the Passenger (RHD) ‘B’ Post clearly visible when opening the passenger door. On the Registration Form there is a link to an example of the label.
