Hi all
I have been looking at ths site for a few weeks and finally registered last week.
At present I don`t have an XK however as soon as my house sale goes through, instead of window shopping I wll be looking for an XKR.
It`s my 50th Brthday next week so this will be my pressie to myself and I am looking at spending aroind 7.5k which I know will get me a decent mileage car.
Finally I must say that this site/forum is brilliant and I have learnt a lot just reading through it.
Cheers

Re: Introduction
Hi Ian,
Welcome to the club and the forums. Hope you will eventually enjoy shopping for your XKR, that's my sort of 50th present.
Do make sure you check out all the Events and if you have time check out the XK8 Forum run on the 27th April, you might want to tag along and see if any one has one for sale -it does happen.
Mike Horlor is your Forum Champion, and he will I am sure be along in a mo to give you his own advice on what to look for and what to avoid.
Cheers

Re: Introduction
Hi Ray
Thanks for the welcome and dependant on work I may attend the event on the 27th.
Hopefully by then the house sale will have gone through and I will be close to getting the XKR, a car which I have alwa6ys liked since my sister in law had one.
I am sure that I will attend some of the drive out days and will hopefully be joined by the missus who at present still isn`t sure whether she likes the car or not but i`m sure she will soon be converted from the dark side.
Thanks again

Re: Introduction
Hi Ian,
Enjoy the hunt for a good car. Buying the best you can afford is good advice for buying any expensive car where the cost of repairs can soon mount up if you choose badly. Don't hesitate to raise any queries here on the bulletin board. We will all try our best to answer them for you and we'll look forward to seeing you on XK8 Forum events.
Mike.
