North East Newbie

Postby 1066george » Wed Apr 10, 2013 3:10 pm

Hi All,

I finally tool the plunge back before Christmas and bought a black 2000 XKR having looked at many before buying. With 81K, two owners and FSH I am very happy with it - she's a beauty.

A bad winter and too much time in the office has meant it has not moved a great deal and now we are both grounded due to a shoulder operation but should be back on the road by May time.

Just ordered a car cover and battery conditioner from the Club today to, a) keep it shiny and b) to stop memory loss which has already happened once.

If anyone has details of a good independent specialist in the Newcastle / Gateshead area it would be appreciated as I do not have much faith in Stratstone following their lacklustre servicing on my now departed XJ40 and Daimler Super8.

Cheers

Jeff :)

Hi & welcome Jeff, if no-one on the BB comes forward with a suggestion for a good local Jaguar specialist, try attending your local regional meeting. Not all members get their hands dirty so someone there will definitely have views on local specialists. Mike.

Thanks Mike. Yes, I intend to do that as soon as I can. The meet is not far from my house :) .

The car and the mechanicals are in good order but I have one of those with the cloudy woodwork so will need to seek advice on that as well :( .

Cheers

Jeff

Welcome Jeff. I hope you enjoy your car and your membership of the Club. Joining a local region is a good idea and I am sure they will make you welcome and will be able to pass on useful information and contacts.

welcome, we are in the next area "up" from you guys, Edinburgh and South East Scotland, however being near Berwick, I use Neville Anderson at NE Jag Spares an awful lot, Peterlee, 0191 586 7770, top man, the you have Alan Carr in North Shields, and Euro Jag in Darlington, all highly recommended, hope this helps, feel free to contact me at anytime
