Re: Proud owner of "new" 2005 XKR-S...*SOLD*

So... I made the mistake of borrowing a 3.2 XJ8 from David Marks while he serviced the XKR-S. Maybe it's an age thing, but I decided there and then that I'm a saloon guy who enjoys the lack of drama. Which is a bummer, having purchased my "dream car" only in January...
I kicked off the plan and lined up a local purchaser for my immaculate and low mileage (33,500) XKR-S, only to have him back out yesterday... 2 days after I had placed a deposit on its replacement. (Bummer 2 in a hopefully short series).
I have spent the day wondering how to proceed (lose the deposit? sell elsewhere?). I now have two dealers lined up to take the car but both are offering a lot less than I had "sold" at and both will add several thousand to what they're willing to pay me before they stick it on the forecourt. If you're seriously interested in avoiding the mark-up on a stunning XKR-S then shout loud, clear and quickly. I paid £19k (over the top vs the "market" value for an 8 year old car I know, but how do you value the right shape in the right interior/exterior colours and with, at the time, 22k on the clock?). Serious offers over £15k invited... or the dealer gets it and charges £18k plus!
See http://www.flickr.com/photos/funnyturn/ ... 6678/show/ for pics. I have lowered the number plate since these were taken - a small mod making a huge difference. FSH is main dealer until last by David Marks.
Here is the text I had drawn up for the original ad I didn't think I needed: JAGUAR XKR-S 4.2 SUPERCHARGED, Copper Black / Classic Ivory Leather/Elm veneer, Air Conditioning, Climate Control, Colour SatNav, Full Leather, Powered Folding Mirrors, Xenon Headlamps, Cruise Control/Auto Speed Limiter, Remote Alarm, Immobiliser, CobraTrakPlus Tracker, R Performance Aluminium Upgrade (J-gate, pedals), R Performance Leather Steering Wheel, Remote Central Locking, Multi-way Adjustable Electric Seats, Heated Seats, Memory Seats, Head Restraints, Centre Armrest with cupholders, Electrically Adjustable Steering Column, Multi-function Steering Wheel, Parking Sensor, Power Steering, Traction Control, Trip Computer, ABS, Multiple Airbags, Quick-Clear Screen, Auto Lighting, Auto Wipers, Colour Coded Body, tinted rear lights, quad exhaust, Front Fog Lamps, Headlamp Jetwash, Metallic Paintwork, Rear Spoiler, Auto-dip Rearview, Electric Mirrors, Electric Windows, Premium Sound System with Sub-Woofer, 6 CD Stacker, Bluetooth Phone Connectivity, Radio Cassette, 20" Sepang Alloys, only 2 owners, 33,500 miles, Full Service History, Rare XKR-S Hardback Brochure with slipcover.
You will need to move quickly as if I haven't sold it privately before the weekend then I need to go down the dealer route. And by sold I mean I have the money in my bank account and have waved a "did I really do the right thing?" tearful farewell.
Just ask me if you have any questions at all. 07557 014930 bell.nigel@btinternet.com. Based in Leicestershire.
All the best,
