Storing my XKR in UK during overseas trip

Hi,
I'm looking for insight on the best options to store my 2008 XKR for up to 9 months whilst away from UK. The car (coupe) is currently parked in London in the underground garage of the building I live in, which will not be available whilst I'm away. I've also learnt about SORN and the option of a reduced insurance premium whilst the car is stored (checking if the saving is then paying for storage costs).
At the moment I'm tossing up between giving the car to a commercial car storage company or organising a lock up garage space myself. Is it really necessary for the engine to be turned over every week? Does a 4 year old car need a trickle feed to keep the battery charged?
So, any suggestions for preparing the car for a long period of storage? Plus, will the car survive untouched in a lock up? Any suggestions on where I store the car? Is SORN worth the effort?
Yes, I have so many questions and thought I'd reach out to fellow enthusiasts before trawling the internet. I look forward to any and all feedback.
thanks,
David
