At Last Got One

I have been round jags since the early 80's Jaguar Owners Club (shut my mouth) and had a 420 which I had been restoring over some years.
We wanted an XK right from the off but family meant we had to have an XJ (at least it was an "R") Very greedy on fuel and to be honest little used. Special occassions only. Finally with the family grown up we decided to get an XKR Converible 4.2. However seeing the condition of the ones we could afford we were not impressed. We wandered down to our local Independant Jag Specialist (Tasker and Lacy) for a chat, they have been looking after The XJR for the last 5 years. They had a car in stock, wrong model, wrong colour, far too old, not of the equipment levels we wanted. SO WE BOUGHT IT!!!. Its like a new car, good mileage mint condition (other than a few easily replaced trims. Full main service history with all the print outs and receipts etc. All the mods done. Ok we can live without cruise and heated memory seats.
Do we miss the supercharger, yes a bit but comparing the indicated 23mpg doing the posing and showing off to friends etc yesterday compared to 15-18 in the charger we dont miss it that much.
There is no CD player but the garage fitted an unobtrusive I POD docking station in the arm rest which works from the radio.
Face aching from smiling we love it. (If anyone is interested in a XJR 1999 in green less than 80K miles, I am sure Tasker and Lacy would be happy to talk to you.)
Yipeeeeeeeeeeee
Babes pass me the key Im going for a spin.
