Hi, I’m Dave live in the Swinton area of Manchester, I have just purchased after a long search a 1998 XK8 Special edition, its my first Cat and I’m really pleased with the the performance of the car, I bought it from a guy in Scotland and she handled like a dream on the 230mile drive home! After a couple of years owning an MGB GT this car is in a totally different league!! Looking forward to interacting with everyone because lm sure gonna have a lot of questions ill be asking over the next few months

Hi Dave ,
Nice looking car you have there
Which special edition is it

I see it's in a colour normally reserved for XKR's , is it Phoenix Red

Enjoy ,

It's definitely Phoenix red. I had an identical looking 1999 XK8 which I sold last year to my (JEC member) buddy in Holland. I've seen a few non-XKR models in this attractive colour and the 18" 'Flute' wheels suit it, too.
I still think it's prettier than my 2007 XK aluminium model!
(Ideally, I'd like an X100's nose on the X150's body!)

Yes its phoenix red and the interior is two tone with the 18” wheels, the previous owner believed only 250 of these were produce in this colour…not sure if thats true but the colour told it for me!

Hi Dave
There are now just over 200 XK's Registered
Of those There are 4 XK8's that are Phenix Red (Have been registered as PR or have quoted the PR Paint Code (CGL)) There are a further 3 XKR's. (I have also included your XK in the above count)
There are a few others registered that have just Red as the colour (without any Paint Code dtls)
The 1st Year registrations for the XK8's are: '98, '99, '01 & '02
