Hi,
I'm Tony from the Isle of Wight, perhaps best known for writing the Island contribution to the JEC Newsletter each month for the last three or so years.
I have a 1999 sapphire blue XKR convertible with ivory leather interior and classic pack. Purchased a little over three years ago it has proved reliable and virtually fault free. Only the upper wishbone bushes (front, both sides) have been replaced. I do have it serviced every year. Used every day, it is a beautiful docile car to drive with the power to cope with the short fast overtaking required on the Island.
I shall keep the XKR until one or other of us falls apart!

Hi Tony and welcome to the Forum and Bulletin Board.
My P&J is a 2000MY XK8, Pacific Blue with oatmeal Classic trim and various options, such as Supersuspension, CATS, cruise control, memory seats etc. I have also 'upgraded' it by fitting the later model's chrome boot plinth with integrated boot release button which I find very convenient in use and, in my opinion, looks better, particularly with the darker colours.
I bought mine two and a half years ago and have covered about 26k miles in her. I have taken her to the Continent a few times for a bit of rapid Autobahn cruising and Alpine touring, a joy every time.

I have also had the secondary chain tensioners replaced with the latest metal type and recently replaced the thermostat and upgraded to the latest water pump, as a precautionary measure only.

Hope you enjoy this new medium of communication and hope we meet at one of the future events.
Meantime, happy motoring (by the sounds of it you are not in need of encouragement :) ) and I hope neither of you two will be falling apart in the forseeable future :D

Welcome to the Forum Tony

I've got a Sherwood Green 98MY coupe' currently on 74300miles. Kept it standard for just over a year before having 20" Montreals, lowered springs, alluminium interior pack, full stainless exhaust and custom grill fitted. Love her to bits and just can't get tired of driving her. Next week having the ECU recalibrated and new brake discs/pads fitted. On top of the mods also had the latest tensioners/chains/ guides fitted and latest thermostat and water pump. Only major fault i've had is the recent failure of the air con, which I'm having fixed next week. Had to wait three weeks for the parts
