Hi Ken,

The first XK8s (1997 MY) had a cable operated throttle which was later replaced by the fly by wire version used subsequently. The $64,000 question is, what are you trying to achieve by going 'old tech'? :?: Mike

Hello all
Thank you for your posts l have read the post from Astromorg and l can see it basically would cost a fortune to go down the road l had in mind. I just want to solve a small problem my car has had for some time now. I have replaced the throttle body spark plugs ignition coils and replaced the intake manifold with a new one and all it’s gaskets. The car runs great once it’s up to temperature but before it does it runs slightly rough l have replaced the temp sensor to and checked all the vacuum pipes and can’t get to the bottom of it. I am thinking now that it could be the oxygen sensors as some times l can smell petroleum as it runs lean. I have a official Jaguar test kit with all its probes l bought some time ago and l would be only too happy to give it to a good home preferably near to Glasgow if some one agreed to carry out my tests if and when needed 👍👍👍👍

Hi Ken, lovely looking car, have seen pictures of it on Paragon’s website. After many long discussions with Tony I finally took the plunge and booked my car in for numerous upgrades etc. It went down there in April and my hope was to have it back in time for the Glamis Extravaganza in July but sadly once he started stripping the car he discovered no end of unexpected rust which had to be dealt with. I am getting the full Verendum kit, spoiler, xenons + DRL, rear lowered, new head unit ( the list is endless) :D . Currently at full respray stage so hopefully won’t be long now. He seems to know his stuff and I guess you are pleased with his work.
