Good morning all.

I have just joined, having become the (hopefully!) proud owner of a 2004 XK8 coupe, purchased privately in south London 3 weeks ago, 250 miles from my home in Cornwall. It is black with ivory interior, and BBS split rim 20" Detroit wheels, which have just been re-finished in original Oyster Gold, with new rim protectors, and looks pretty stunning. It has covered 74,000, miles with a fat history file, having had 3 owners, two of whom were father and son, owning it for all but the first 3 years.

It is going in for a full service and inspection in Wadebridge on Tuesday, to find out exactly what I have bought!

It does have a couple of issues which did not manifest themselves until the journey home, which I will post about under the relevant headings.

I look forward to meeting some of you at events later in the year.

Ian C.

Welcome to the JEC and the forum! I hope all goes well with your new car. There're lots of activities in the club for you to take advantage of, from regional meetings to specific Modern XK events. Keep your eyes open for information in the magazine, on the website and through social media too. :D Mike.
