Hi Rod,
Try this link (http://www.jaguar.com/owners_internatio ... story.html). You have to go through the usual registration hoops to get in but once there, you have access to the car's history.
If I remember rightly, I found it in the first place via the main Jaguar sales site under 'owners' or a similar designation. Mike.
Hi Mike,

Followed the link. Many thanks for that. The registration hoop requires me to be very patient while my request is approved!

Does anyone know why some xkr's have R on the head rest and some don't ?

I'd suggest it's down to the vagaries of Jaguar's marketing department! According to a brochure I have to hand, 2009/2010 5 litre Rs had headrests marked with an R. My own 2014 XKR fitted with the performance seats doesn't have any marking on the headrests. Mike.

My 2013 XK Portfolio driver's headrest has the remnants of some old bloke's long-lost lustrous locks.
Sigh.....

Thank you for the feedback !

So I should be picking up a 2012 XKR on Saturday ! I have bought an original brochour from Ebay and when you look in the body colour section "Azurite" blue is not an option, though "Indigo" looks like the colour (dark Blue). Maybe the dealer has the colour wrong in the advert. Is there anyway to check ? I assume the log book just says "Blue". When you look online Azurite is an option for XKR......

Any feedback would be welcome.

In the passenger side door jam there should be a label with the VIN and Paint & Trim Codes

Post the Paint Code here or as any main dealer & they will tell you the Jaguar Colour

Does anyone know if this electronic service record has been done retrospectively for older cars - I need to know when the valves were changed in the wireless, :D But seriously, it would be good to keep with the other documentation - 2000 Super V8

Hi Ian,

If the TV is anything to go by, the system should show that Fred Flintstone has a new pair of trainers!

At a more practical level, for pre 2013 cars, it's my understanding that you would still have to approach each dealership which has worked on the car to try to persuade them to give you a printout but how long they hold old records for is anyone's guess (10 years maximum?). Most of the companies don't last that long! Some dealers have always been good at giving out service info. Others have always hidden behind a blanket 'Data Protection' excuse. So expect a hit and miss response. Mike.

Thanks Mike,
Yes, I imagined there would be a cutoff date but will keep digging around for snippets. Sorry Wiis for hi jacking your thread, but welcome to the strange world of Jaguar (and Daimler!) ownership and hope that Saturday's pick up is all that you had hoped for and lots more besides.

To avoid emptying your bank account, I'd recommend contacting Eurojag at Darlington, or any of the specialist breakers which advertise in the Enthusiast magazine, to acquire second hand items. Mike.
