Hi MarkyM, It's all good stuff! How about describing how you went about some of these tasks? They sound interesting. Mike.

Mike here or elsewhere?

I personally did

Calipers - an hour no wheel removal - high temp brake paint
lowered number plate - 30 mins
Fitted sub - 10 mins
Fitted 4 x mudflaps - 30 mins
Fitted clear cruise lights (wiring already there) clear from Ebay
Clear indicators with silvered 501 bulbs- 20 minutes
Oil changes using puraltor filter
XP performance filter.

All the electrical work done by a local auto electrical engineer in 2 hours (£40 per hour)

New lights and boot plinth - EAPJ in Derbyshire

Wheel bearings - NM Jags+fitting of EBC discs and pads (bought myself Sejoc)

Track rod ends and exhaust fitting - Swallows jaguar

Front grill - bought from Chillyboy on ebay (he uses my car to advertise his stuff still...it's the blue one with the Mazda in the background). Fitted by Jaguar main dealer (they only charged 30 mins labour (where independants wanted to charge 3 hours!)

Nitrogen for tyres - brittania tyres Bristol

LPG conversion - Gaspoweruk (www.gaspoweruk.co.uk)...tell Steve that Mark sent you :O)

Hope this helps..i do have pictures of most of the bit's I've done and pic of the complete LPG install.

Regards

Mark

Hello, Mark. What a busy bee!

Can you tell us why you inflate the tyres with nitrogen?
I know it's used on aircraft, mainly as an anti-fire precaution. What are the advantages and where do you get it from?

Nitrogen is used because it doesn't contain water vapour which will alter tyre pressures with temperature and nitrogen being a large molecule will not escape as easily as some of the other components of air. Hence, using nitrogen should result in more consistent tyre performance as well as less need to compensate for tyre pressure losses through the carcass. In theory, tyres maintained at the correct pressures should last longer and give optimum mpg. Racing cars, where things are more critical, have long taken the nitrogen route. It's also catching on with HGVs where tyre pressures have a major effect on mpgs. Mike.
