Dear All

I do hope that you will indulge me and forgive me if I celebrate my one-thousandth post on the JEC BB's here with my XJS BB friends.

Seven years down the road the BB's have been through a lot - and don't we all know it! There was a great deal of reticence if not opposition in the early days to model forums and the Internet. The debacle ( may I use that word?) with the introduction of the new website and it's knock on (or is that knock-out) effect on the Bulletin Boards had me worried that we would never get back to where we once were. But thankfully things seem to be picking up and hopefully as we move forward the BB's will go on from strength to strength.

I gained huge pleasure from organising the XJS BB outings that we enjoyed as I think did those who attended, and I do hope that someone will come forward to take up the mantle of organising some more, I'd love to tag along in my Stuttgard Skateboard!

I would like to say a thank you to all those members who have posted over the years especially some old friends, Pop, Brake Buster, Mark, and of course PaulS who persuaded me to get involved in the first place, thanks Paul......... ......it's been huge fun

Please do consider coming forward to run the XJS Forum and contact Rob Jenner to express your interest, it's really not too taxing, in fact if you love the car as I do it's a real pleasure to meet so many like minded people and to chat on a subject of common interest. All you need to apply is a love of a great car and the desire to pass that on to others.

With Very Best Regards

Well done on the 1k Tony.
Many thanks from me for all your hard work over the years, especially on arranging the xjs visits. Although I couldn't make it to all of them, the Browns Lane visit was special, not just in visiting the cars birthplace but in viewing behind the scenes, and seeing things not usually available to most. Maybe when the collection is relocated someone will arrange another visit.

David, thank you, and I look forward to seeing you in June if not before 8)

Pop
Much appreciated
I feel that it could be a long time before we see the Jaguar Heritage collection on public display again unfortunately. Apart from the lead times involved in locating a site and building a new museum, somebody has to find the cash to pay for it - Tata I presume, unless a very rich Jaguar enthusiast steps forward.

To that end, if you want to see the museum for the last time in its current form, do try to get to the sale on March 31st. I'm hoping to make it to pick up a bit of Jaguar history :P

Very Best Regards
TonyS

Many thanks Tony for all your efforts really appreciated.

We have had a few discussions on line over the years and I am still not going to the olympics.

The Browns Lane trip was brilliant to see the museum and the cars in the factory was an unrepeatable experience, to drive our own cars in the factory was really special and a unique opportunity.

The Malborough and Richard Atwell museum was great the £5 parking fee at Avebury is still hurts(tight northener). You made myself and Steph most welcome on our way down south with a appreciated cuppa at your house and it was a great weekend away.

Seeing an xjs on the A19 was unusual to see you in it with Libby was an unbelievable chance meeting.

Do keep in touch a Mercedes may seem out of place at a Jag do but I am sure we will all make an exeption for a valued friend.

All the best to yourself and Libby.

Best Regards Mark & Steph.

ps any one got any photos of the Browns Lane trip we had a computer disaster and lost ours any chance of an email of a few to mark.pearson80@tesco.net thanks.
