Behave Rob? You know me better than that.....

"Point take"(n) will do 8) ........I'm sure this topic will run.

I do think the Club is missing a trick here. Whether you own a car of a different marque or not I'm sure that cars like those shown above would offer some variety to our National shows for all those members who attend.
We all love looking at beautiful Cats, but a little bit of variety adds some interest I think.
I don't believe that having other marques on the showfield will persuade members to sell their Jags and buy a Porsche, Merc or MG etc. (if that's the fear). I do think that they would like the opportunity to look at and talk about another interesting classic or performance car.

As far as Southern Day goes, the limited size of the showfield perhaps prevented an other marques display, though interestingly on the official brochure map, there was an area for "nonJaguar Classics parking" (where all of the photos above were taken) effectively off the showfield and in with the trailers and company hacks and an "other classics parking" which had a lovely (thirties?) Rolls-Royce and a Daimler SP250 parked there, tho unfortunately they got submerged by the late arrivals. I don't know who or how decided that an MGC or Aston Martin (or a Merc or a Porsche)were less deserving of merit than them, probably that hadn't pre-booked.........but you get my drift

I don't believe that to be a Jaguar Enthusiast you actually need to own a road going Jaguar. I do believe that in all likelihood all our members are car enthusiasts who appreciate nice motors.

Maybe we should welcome other marques at our shows to broaden the appeal of the shows to the wider membership?
Certainly it will add variety, which as they say........
