Celebration steering wheel

Has anyone got one for a reasonable price? There's one on eBay but I'm not paying £650 for it!

They are quite rare as only fitted to the last cars. It may be easier and cheaper to refurbish the existing one

The existing wheel isn't a celebration one, just the standard type. I've no idea why this would have been changed, unless perhaps the original one was damaged?

Could be last owner looking to make extra money by replacing with cheap one and selling original on as these are rare.

I guess I'll be sticking with the black wheel for now! At least it matches the black fascia...

Tris - there is one on eBay for £399 that looks in good condition. No airbag but the one you have will transfer.

Thank David! It's the same one that I found before for £590+£60 p&p. Good to see the starting price has dropped, will keep my eye on it.

I guess all Celebrations had the same number of splines?

Cheers, already watching. It's the same one as before but re-listed at a sensible start price.

Tris,

If you buy one. make sure that it's a UK one. The US one was deliberately engineered such that a UK airbag won't fit, so you'll then need to find a US airbag also. There are also different spline collet teeth number (76 & 86)

Good luck

Cheers Paul, how may spline teeth should the UK version have? The one on eBay had 76, I think...

Tris,

I can't remember but I'll check tomorrow (I have a new US wheel in my garage). Also one of the three mount holes for the airbag on a US wheel is 1/2" in a different position to the UK version.
