XJS HE for sale - spares or repair

Postby jasonc » Fri Apr 13, 2018 3:44 pm

Hi,

I've joined this forum mainly because I have an 1987 XJS HE that has been sitting in my garage for the last 6 years. I imported it with me from New Zealand when I came over here, but never found the time or money to do some work on it.

I am now planning on going back to NZ in the next 3-4 months and I'm not going to take the old girl with me.

Is there anyone on this forum who would like an 1987 HE, never been driven on a salted road, for spares or repair? It's either someone from here to pick it up, or it will end up in a breakers yard.

Let me know if you are interested.

Car would have to be trailered as it's not roadable. TBH, I don't even know if it will start.

Jason

Hi,

I'm near Bicester, the car was imported and tax paid for when it came here. It's never been registered in the UK, car is RHD and was running when I parked it in the garage.

Kind regards,
Jason

I am very proud to add.
That our eldest son and I have saved this lovely classic piece of heritage from our hometown's motor industry from
going to car heaven.
We hope to have it completely roadworthy in 12 months time of collecting her. (Fingers crossed sooner)
So we would appreciate any tips or advice that we may ask for while on the way of restoring (Elaine) That is what
I am going to name her. After my dear lovely wife.

So I owe and would like to say a great BIG BIG thank you to you Jason and to your good lady wife too. (Not forgetting your lovely cats also) For giving us the best gift someone as a stranger could ever give to us.

What a great story! Please take plenty of pictures of the car as you got it from Jason and the work as it progresses as this would make a great magazine article. Please also keep us up to date here as we can offer you advice and encouragement all the way through to getting her back on the road.
Best of luck and please don't be afraid to ask anything - folk on here will be glad to help!

Thank you David.
Much appreciated.
Elaine (the car that is) Will be in company of another Jaguar we own. My wife has bought me a 1989 XJ40 as an early
wedding anniversary present. We do not fully own her just yet as my wife is paying for it instalments. So hopefully by
November it will be fully ours. She does need TLC mainly on the interior, as it has been neglected,
plus some TLC on the body work too. That will be done next year. As the XJ40 is road worthy. Our son and I
are going to mainly concentrate on getting our XJS on the road.
It is all thanks to my wife and our XJ40 being displayed at Bloxham Steam Rally last month.
As this is how we got to know about Jason offering us his lovely XJS.
