It's not the full monty but does appear to be a genuine one (from the description).
If you do find a real one be prepared to pay a lot of money and make sure you check it for rot behind the wheel arches.

Thanks Steve
Already seen this one, not in the flesh though...
Will pay the money for the right car. Not sure whether the red one on the first page of the XJS model forum is still for sale??

Unfortunately the people in the know have clocked on to the Listers so I think they are hoarding them.
If I saw one for £15 to £20K I would be tempted (even though I don't have anywhere that sort of money, I'm still allowed my pipe dreams) but experience has taught me otherwise.
I had a genuine Lister XJS ( without the big body kit) and it was fabulous; fast as fury, handle like a rocket sled on rails, jet black and really moody looking (as in, " Yes, that is me in your rear view mirror, why aren't you in the ditch already you peasant") sort of moody. Even when 'er in doors was driving it they would all get out of the way. Unless you were 4 up in an Escort XR3i in which case she would follow them and blow their tits off at every junction.
Cost me £9000 when I bought it: 3 years later and 3 engine changes (nothing to with Lister obviously, V12 engines were cheap as chips then) sold it for £800.
If I had the money, and one came up for sale, then I would buy it on the spot.
And then drive it for 9 yards and it would stop.
If a proper one comes up for sale (proper as in provenance), fully sorted (as in all wings off and inner corrosion sorted, then I would start thinking about £40K to £50K.
Has to be in black though and then you will be the cool kid on the block.

There's one for sale but I can't find out much about it http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C681009
He claims it's a genuine Lister. Was on a plate G885 VSE before.
