Change exhaust manifolds

Dear Board,

I decided to replace the exhaust manifolds on my AJ16 and already sourced a pair of used ones w/o cracks.
Replacing the manifold gaskets and downpipe seals is obvious and the manual also asks to get new downpipe locking nuts because of the helicoil.
Are there any other parts who absolutely need to be replaced?

There are two different types of exhaust manifold gaskets on the market. A multi-layer S/S type and a rather thick punched type. What are your experiences and recommendation on the different types?

Hi Peter,

Manifold gaskets, downpipe gaskets and nuts are pretty much it
I would advise sticking with the s/s multi layered type as fitted by Jaguar from the factory.

Last time I tried, it wasn't possible to get the special helicoil nuts. AFAIR, the local agent sold me some lobed locknuts (they have an out-of-true thread at the top to provide the locking).
