Hi
Just wondered if anyone has fitted a US Celebration wheel to a UK car, or knows if it can be done? I've been offered one at a decent price but don't want to be lumbered if it won't fit. What are the differences?
Thanks
Phil

Celebration steering wheel
there shouldnt be any problems at all, as long as its ' like for like'
what i mean by that is non-airbag for non-airbag versions, and the same for the later airbag ones
they all have the same spline fitting,

BE CAREFUL! Unfortunately they don't all have the same spline fitting. The Steering column is the same but the wheels aren't
There are a variety of different steering wheels from 91 onwards, airbag, non-airbag etc. But not even all the airbag wheels are the same. Jaguar fitted a splined adapter collet on the top of the steering column which then enables fitment of the wheel which has a larger splined hole.
The steering wheels are stamped with a number on the main body of the wheel behind the airbag. This number is either 76 or 86 indicating the number of splines on the wheel and thence the outside of the collet. There is not a great deal of difference between 76 and 86. They look exactly the same and you will wonder why you can't get the wheel on and therefore may be tempted to use force. BUT, if you try and fit the wrong size wheel to the collet you WILL RUIN THE WHEEL.
So make absolutely sure that the wheel you are replacing is the same as the original wheel. If not, the answer is to try and source the right collet to replace the original. They are not available from Jaguar and you will find it difficult to get hold of one secondhand but it is possible. I've got one but unfortunately it's not for sale as it's waiting to go on my US Celebration Steering Wheel!
I very very nearly learnt all of this the hard way.
Hope this helps.
