Little or no Heat from Heater

I have a 2000 3.0 SE S type and find that the heater is not currently working or giving limited heat.

Where should I look first to correct matters?

I`d suspect the heater valve which is located to the rear of the radiator on the right hand side just above the anti roll bar bush saddle. It is a pig of a job to remove as you need to get under the car to extract it. It is really a Jaguar specialist job both to test and replace. Not a nice one at all. Thats one idea about the failure.

The other place to look after detecting hot and cold motor drive current is the wiring loom behind the front bumper and above the N/S front wing much shield. The shield has to come off to allow the bumper cover to be removed. Expect all under car fastenings to be corroded solid......

Mike is right go to an Independent and get the heater control valve replaced,its a rotten job underneath the car and real fiddly you might be lucky and the ECM hasn't burned out. See previous Posts ref Climate Control/Heater. This is a common problem. Worth sourcing the valve and ECM( if needed) on the Internet, Ebay etc.

Are you only doing short journeys, Is there enough water in the system?
