Guys.
Climate and aircon are one of the most notoriously difficult areas within S-types. Repair costs can be astronomical if you take your car to a Mnain Dealer or specialist. Here then is a site I found which might perhaps offer some good solution advice which can be applied given the correct mind set, equipment and abilities to think both horizontally and vertically during a diagnostic process. One thing is sure. My formal training is black hand gang rather than as an electrical fairy. However, I survive! I`ve several heating control issues on J44 presently and I intend to explore the link below to see if I can self repair.

Please take a look at this and lets open up a debate on what we may have all learned and been able to action.
Merry Christmas to all and my thanks to everyone who has contributed to this BB, the magazine or at our shows during the year. All input, comments, postings or articles, gratefully received. Thanks Guys.

Re: Climate control issues and solutions.
Hi Mike,
I would like to thank you for constantly being on duty to answer questions, give advise where you can and even listen to a "load of old rabbit" from some old geezer.
I am sure that without you at the helm, our bit of the Bulletin Board, namely the S Type section would not enjoy the same level of activety if you were not there to drive it along.
We don't like to comment on such things but notice your contribution spills over into other areas of activety for which I am sure is gratefully received.
So, with a drink in one hand, the helm held firmly in the other and head into wind ,go forth and have an Excellant Christmas and a Gremlin free New Year.
Best Wishes Phil

Re: Climate control issues and solutions.
Just a small point, if the air outlet into the cabin is only outside temperature then the system may need regasing.
We bought an 06 Focus as a shopping trolley and it wouldn't cool down this last summer, our local garage (only used for MOT's) connected it up to their nice machine and it sucked out the remaining gas and measured the amount, then stopped to see if it maintained a vaccum (it did), checked if any oil had been removed, then recharged the system with the full amount of gas and all worked well.
It transpires that a lot of manufactures save a little money by not putting the full charge in in the first place and as it is expected to loose 10% a year it lasts as long as the guarantee period. It cost £48 for the recharge and the correct weight of charge is stated on a label under the bonnet including the type of gas.
Thats just the mechanical side of the system.
Best wishes to everyone and I hope you all had a good Christmas.
