Ambient air temperature saying it's colder than it is!
Moderators:GJS-typeR, Montana5
These past 2 days, the outside temperature has been reported to be 2 degrees, before jumping up gradually to the correct temperature of 14 degrees or so. Is it likely to be the sensor behind the number plate in the bumper, or might there be something else at play here? There are a few other electrical gremlins going on at the minute I.e horn inoperative, parking sensors having a mind of their own so I hope this isn't related!

The temp readout on my car has always been slow to react ie if in the morning the outside temp is say 5 deg's in the afternoon when I leave work it stays on 5 deg for about 5 to 6 mins then changes to what ever the outside temp is. However you say you have other issues which could point to a broken wire /wires behind the front bumper.
