In-Car Analogue TV to Digital

I have a 2002 S Type 3.0 V6 SE with an analoge TV as a part of the ICE system which ceased to work when everthing went digital back in 2007. I assume i now need the auto equivalent (12v) of a household tv digibox in order to receive programmes. I would be pleased to hear from anybody who has either sorted this problem themselves or taken it to somebody to do so incl what was involved & the associated costs. I am very keen to retain touch screen control of the tv rather than using a remote control

Thanks for the reply & link Dave but far more involved than i want to get. I would like to keep everything original but with a working tv.
We send satellites to Mars without any issues so surely there is a simple & inexpensive solution out there for my in-car tv

At the time of introduction / changeover to Freeview from the olde analogue system at switch off there were some convertors around that output an analogue signal from received digital. But they were 240V AC with a remote. So you would also have to source a small 12V to 240V inverter power supply to go with, disconnect your existing TV tuner's aerial input and plug in the output from the convertor.

That's the simplest method. But I havn't seen any convertors around in a long time. They must be still around somewhere though. Coz noone's running an old analogue cathode ray tube TV anymore...

There are loads of £50.00 12v Digital TV converter boxes available on e-bay, however its not as simple as that, I believe the problem lies in obtaining the correct (and expensive) suitable Jaguar Interface Cable.
Do a bit of searching, in particular look out for anything by Ben Willcox, who is pretty genned up on Jaguar conversions, though he tends to favour the Android route, which may be too much for what you want.

Point to one then.

But, as the question is one of those hardy annuals (and down here the shoots of spring are already starting to show) the proper way to convert is to dump that old head unit and update. With heavy heart
(coz I like OEM too) did that in my Passat B6 ('01MY) and went with the then latest and greatest JVC. After trying
a cheepo Chinese import (Pioneer copy called Waywell, wayward more like) that lasted all of six months

Now got a Range Rover L322 (well, it is JLR ) with all the toys except Freeview. Will it look wrong with a digital TV in there? Not if I can find one of those convertors it won't. As you say, interfacing isn't easy except via the old analogue aerial input route. There's not HDMI input available. Composite video is a possibility (into or switched with the reversing camera input) but that doesn't carry the sound channel...
