Just started my 5.3 xjs 1990 after winter rest
following noted idle speed up to 1000rpm when hot how do you adjust
also when starting from cold both exhausts pumping out white smoke until engine hot then no smoke.Does not appear to be losing water.
any ideas on above please.

If it was fine when you put it away I wouldn't touch anything just yet. Try a decent tank of fuel with an injector cleaner through it, take it for a long run, and then see how it is. The white smoke is probably condensation - see other posts on this. It happens to mine all the time. Long run will cure this as well, but it will return if you have a combination of wet/damp weather and don't use the car.
