Worrying fuel leak...

Hello there,

I was wondering if someone could give some advice. I have a '93 4.0 manual coupe (so a facelift). It's had a few minor issue (one electrical one that I received some great advice for in the Electrics section). However, last night something developed that I worry may be a little more serious.
Since sorting the starter problem I have been enjoying using the car for a few weeks, but yesterday when returning home I was noticing what was quite a strong fuel smell inside the car and then more so when got outside. It was dark so didn't investigate initially. However, this morning there is fuel on the ground and when the engine is running fuel is spraying down from the rear (approximately where the rear seats are and possibly slightly to the right, but cannot get fully under car).
As it sprays when the engine is running, I am more suspicious of a fuel line rather than tank issue, but certainly not sure. From glancing through the forums it seems like getting replacement parts for fuel lines might not be easy either.
Any thoughts gratefully received!

Thanks,

Tom

Hi - have not been on the forum for a few months and just seen your post.

Very interested to hear any news on this - I searched for ideas on replacing fuel lines but there is very little detail on where to get replacements. Just brushing off the rust and re-waxing mine but soon I would like to replace with new.
I have used Pirtek in the past so thinking they might be able to make up replacements.

Did not get this sorted until last summer as put the car away for winter. It was a flexible fuel hose on the left just ahead of the rear axle that looked like it had been chewed on... Very good AA mechanic had a piece of similar hosing that he fitted in about 10 minutes and no problems (with this, at least) since then.
