Pinking

Hi

I have a 1986 5.3 V12 XJ-S HE.

I have noticed that the car has developed a tendency to 'pink' under load.

Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

I use un-leaded fuel all the time - might this be the cause?

Hi Lead free fuel is O.K. but I always use ultimate to stop my v12 pinking. I could retard the ignition but it seems penny pinching. Is your distributor advance and retard free? and does your distibutor vacuum capsule operate when suction is applied? regards Kels
