Fuel starvation issue

So my mechanic has had my car apart and back together again (rad, water pump, tps, plugs, leads, dizzy cap rotor, plus the IRS)

Now it will happily idle but cuts out under any load. I'm thinking the fuel swirl pot gauze could be blocked or the fuel pumps failing (twin pumps apparently on an XJR-s, hope they are available if its them).

He has double checked all grounds and wiring. Any suggestions for XJS specific quirks we could have missed? Thanks!

fuel swirl pot is the next step after changing the fuel filter , these get a very fine black gritty residue from the main fuel tank and it sticks to the fine brass mesh on the pickup tube in the swirl pot, however , this usually manifests its self while driving along on smooth roads, as rough roads keeps the debris suspended

then , it could be the fuel pump, i'n not sure, but does the 92 have internal or external fuel pumps , up to 92 definatley had a single 4bar pump mounted under the swirl pot

I have looked at the US xjrs manual I've got and it doesn't show a swirl pot, rather two internal pumps, so I'm clueless!

another item to check are the fuel pressure regulators on the fuel rail , ensure there is a working vacuum to the regulator, and ensure the regulator is functioning,

best way is to bypass it with some fuel pipe, if things don't change, then it won't be that

I would check the fuel pressure, I think that it is 3 bar on this model. Avoid 95 octane fuel, it can have more ethanol, and this, being corrosive just picks up more dirt. Try Roger at AJ6 Engineering?
The fuel pumps are the most likely cause of this problem.

Also, avoid cheap 98! BP for my Jag.

My other car was mapped on sainsbury's premium, so always runs on sainsbury's premium. Cheap cheap

Thanks for all the help, I can confirm that it was the fuel pump. Just pure coincidence that it decided to pack up whilst we were in the middle of all the other jobs!

Strangely, in contradiction to all of the paperwork I found online, my car only has a single internal fuel pump, rather than the twin pump listed.
