I think these were the only whites the 3.6 came in?
The reason I ask is that a while ago I bought a 2nd hand white bonnet to replace my rusted one. It has languished in the shed for a long time and only in the last couple of days I have moved it into the garage in preparation for fitting and I noticed it is far more creamy then mine. It will of course be sprayed, but I quite liked that cream colour and wouldn't mind the whole car that colour. Now I know my Glacier white is already quite creamy compared to BBs V12 (which is really white).
I've tried looking in books and the net, but of course colours don't come out very true in photos or on the screen. I'm rambling, my question is Nimbus creamier then Glacier or do I have something else?

I've not done a lot to the car lately but eventually the bonnet is now off, it has always been corroded in the back corners. The 2nd hand one had been waxoyled early in it's life and is almost as good as new.
My original Glacier White bonnet is on the left and the replacement is on the right. It will be sprayed of course but I still haven't discovered what white it is. I quite like this creamy colour, if the whole car was being resprayed I would be tempted to get it done like this.

It's difficult to judge colour, especially in photos as lighting and computer screens makes so much difference. My original bonnet looks bluey white in the 1st picture but as you can see from the Kemble pic below, its a lot creamy then BBs white car so you can imagine just how creamy the replacement bonnet is.
The 3.6 bonnet has the hunchback lump where a V12 is flatter so it must have been on a 3.6 originally.

Re: Nimbus white V Glacier white
Well I don't actually know what white my car is, it has a NDP code (Glacier white) on the B post but that's not the colour it really is. I always knew it had some bodywork done in it's early life due to overspray and paint lines at various places along the nearside but it seems it may have had a complete respray, no wonder that I have always had a problem touching up repairs over the years.
The car is going into the bodyshop to have the new bonnet sprayed next week, the painter is having to match the existing colour and will be using 2 pack. Once it is all cured I'm thinking of taking it to a professional detailer to tidy up the rest of the car.

Re: Nimbus white V Glacier white
Back from the bodyshop today. My painter had a difficult job matching the paint as both wings are slightly different shades but I'm pleased with the result, it's a vast improvement on the rust eaten original. Usually they like to spray the wing tops to blend in the colours but where to end? anyway cost was a factor.
I might take some before and after pics of the affected areas although I'm sure we have all seen rusty XJSs before. I just need to put the badge back on, give some of the bits behind the grille some satin black, waxoyl the cavities and clean the car up as the dust gets everywhere from preparation.

Re: Nimbus white V Glacier white
Just to conclude the story, I finally got around to waxoyling the bonnet today as it was quite warm, yes I know I should have done it before winter but I never got around to it.
It's not that easy to get the wax into the edges of the bonnet, I have a high pressure atomiser sprayer with long plastic tube but by thinning the wax with white spirit I think I managed it, seeing the mist coming out of various gaps.
So that is another job done but there are plenty of other projects in the pipeline.
