Front of NS rear wheelarch/rear sill repair

There is a small hole in the front of the wheelarch near where it meets the rear of the sill, and some perforation of the rear of the outer sill where it projects beyond the front of the wheelarch, no doubt due to the rust trap that area forms when mud gets left there. So on the face of it a relatively minor repair (but with the risk of surgery revealing more to do, although to date it has not been an MoT issue). I'd appreciate any advice, suggestions or recommendations for welders in NW Kent or nearby who do a cost effective repair. Thanks, Chris.

rust is like and iceberg , there is lots more behind what you can see ,

that said

its never not repairable unless you give up or run out of money ,

the place i would be worried about in this area is the lower wing attachment to the sill front , this is behind where your rust is , and can only be seen if the stone baffle plate is removed and look inside the wing

then you will see the extent of any corrosion

Sorry BB I wasn't clear enough, the area in question is the front of the rear wheelarch where it meets the rear of the sill.

What did you do on your car then, did you buy all new factory panels or make them up?

mixture of both

i bought new panels , but as you have discovered, the right ones are not always available, so i used original outer sill sections cut to fit , and made up the filler sections for front and back where needed

bear in mind that the extension of the sill past the body , both front and back is double skinned, and thats the bit that rots out as its a cavity

if making from scratch , make one out of stiff card first to perfect the shape, transpose to metal and the rest is easy
