i must be loosing the plot..........

Postby Brakebuster » Wed Mar 10, 2010 9:28 pm

as i have just spent two full evenings prepping a part of the the XJS...

the trouble is its the bit behind the hinges on the passenger side, and will never be seen except when the door is opened to get in , lol

all original weld spatter ground back and cleaned up, the whole area inside the wing mounting plate and the body where the hinges bolt to will be ' stone-chipped ' and then top coated for added protection, as Jaguar never actually painted these area's as the doors were bolted on before painting , i have also done the whole sill and step to the B pillar...

the slog continues

BB

btw, the whole front end has been prepped and primed, and the replacement body-kit put on for a test fit, not far off painting now, lol

The problem was you knew it was there and if you did not repair it you would have bugged by it until you did, so it is best to get it out of the way and can now enjoy the piece of mind knowing it is a job well done.

Then you can start on the next job.

Best Regards Mark.

ps This was meant as moral support.

Likening your work to the building trade in which I spent 40 +years -----'Have you properly prepared that for painting? It's near enough. No I asked if you had properly prepared it. Yes I have. Now that's near enough'. Or,There is only one way to do a job and that is the right way.

Don't worry , some of us, perhaps all, understand. Paul.
