Has anyone used Rustmaster near Hatfield / Harpenden?

I have been looking at their website and have emailed them about waxoyling my car, they seem a very proffessional setup but I would like to hear from anyone who has used them.

I am still thinking of doing my own waxoyling on my car but from what others tell me it may be better to get it done proffessionally first and then just top it up myself.

I haven't used them but the website looks promising and with a five year guarantee and free annual inspections and re-treatments you shouldn't have to top it up yourself.

Is the price reasonable? If so, I'd say go for it before the winter

Well my baby is booked in for next Tuesday with rust master.

They have been very tolerant of my questions and concerns so watch this space and I will report back Good or Bad

Well my car has now been Rustmastered!!!!!!!!

On the whole they have got the waxoyl where it needed to go, but they also got it where it did not need to go.

I think anyone else going there should either take a look first or if not able to do that then take your own protective covers for whatever you can and remove drivers Matt's.

They clean and apply on two ramps side by side so you get a hell of a lot of cross contamination from vehicle to vehicle although I will say they DID protect my beige soft top.

My car was so soiled all over the bodywork that I got a car valeter to come back to clean it which cost me £180 but it was worth it.

I think I would give them 6/10

Rustmaster Update

Yesterday I removed the wing liners at the front of my car and there was no sign of waxoyl so I think it is safe to say that Rustmast only treat the bits you can see and Not the cavities as promised.

At least they have done the dirty job the rest I can do myself.

I would now reduce their score to 4/10 as most people will trust they have done the job they promised.

I did email them a polite message, I got a receipt for it but no reply.

See the Club Mag Dec 2009 issue for more on rustproofing, page 35. I had not realised that the club were not accepting ads from 'the firm in question' because of shoddy work reports. Shame as when I went there in '04 there seemed to be an interest in doing a good job even if it was not always realised in practice. I do not know of another company doing just rustproofing, the rest seem to do it just as a sideline. Should he be given another (carefully monitored) chance to make amends and re-establish his reputation do you think?
