Celebration Door Lock And Hinges

Anyone know if door hinges for late XJS available anywhere, seems SNG and David Manners can't. Also could do with a diagram of the door lock assembly as mine has been seriously bodged and none of us can remember what it should look like. Door is O/S.

What is the problem with the hinge? Is it play in the pin? If so, I would buy a 2nd-hand one and get it reamed out and sleeved.

As regards the door lock, do you need a more detailed diagram other than just the parts diagram to understand the positioning of each item?

Thanks for replying, yes excessive play so thought easiest just to get new hinges if available, but clearly not. Will probably rework existing ones as really not to bad, door has barely dropped but has enough for the door card to catch on the sill cover. Regarding the door lock assembly any sort of diagram would help though detailed better as not sure if something missing, or more likely swapped, or just slung back together by previous bodgers.

Is the lock problem with parts at the latch end or the lever end?

Let me know if the Jaguar parts website diagram is giving you what you need? If not, I may be able to dig something out from the workshop manual (I assume you don't have one?)

Thanks yes don't have a workshop manual had assumed I would be able to find a well-thumbed Haynes at least when I bought the car but seemed they never made one, and all I can find on eBay is CD or download ones which given that I struggle to sign in on here is probably not what I need!!

Trouble is previous owner had the outer handle replaced and the lock barrel was swapped with the original in order to maintain access with original key, it did work for a bit then rattled alot and then stopped locking and unlocking on key. Obviously can lock and unlock on fob but I tend to avoid as remember these new and the numerous problems, not to mention heavy battery drain, these alarms had.
