The size quoted online is 31x0.7x0.7 cm a hollow pipe

The above is 0.8cm with a tail .

I have just had mine out to measure it. The uncompressed diameter is 6.6mm and the compressed "bead" above the panel surface is 3.2mm - there is no flat "tail" so most/all of that will need to be cut off with a sharp knife. The site you quote offers several different sizes but the stuff is cheap enough to buy a couple of lengths to trial fit.

The restorer has advised '' I'm sure I need them on then wings tightened then chrome on around the window '' is that correct regards when they are to be fitted?

Would you happen to know the inside diameter?

My apologies - I hadn't realised the work was being done by a professional restorer - in which case you should leave it all entirely to him.

All I can say is that one of mine went missing this summer, and when I get round to it in the New Year I certainly won't be removing the wing and/or windscreen finishers to fit a replacement. Whether that is the "correct" way or not I can't say.

Not a problem, glad of your input.
Struggling to find replacements in UK, there is a pair in Holland....but they have advised they can not find them in the warehouse.
There is a pair in the States, a copy of they are selling ...but, at best a week though now in the Christmas rush.
What came out was a rubber seal and the other side a ''distorted straw'' as was described.
Job in hand was scuttle replacements, almost done, its getting put back together......window out , chrome off in doing so.
He measured the i/d and it was 4mm, have bought the hose on Amazon and we shall see how it fits.
This is the first time he has done this job, I gathered a lot of information from various sources and got all the parts together.
But, this part that I requested turned out to be the seal that goes under the windscreen chrome - so - I needed this sourced and quick.
Question was if he could put back together and then pop the seals in, but I will have them soon so its a cover bet and hopefully as it sounds a part fit for purpose.
There is nothing doing UK wise with these seals/fillers by the looks of it .

Parts that were NLA are gradually being re-introduced by Jaguar, SNGB and others where there is demand and there is no alternative. For this particular application I would have thought a generic seal would have "done the job" - just a question of finding something suitable and, to a certain extent, working out your own installation method.

I assume form your "tag" the car is a 1996 Celebration? It would be nice to see some photos!

Was a post from Years ago pointing to JCP's having, they no longer have but have filled in form stating they should reintroduce them.
Britparts put me onto www.the parts.com - states of having 2 in Holland but they can not find them in the warehouse.
Shop on Ebay in USA are making them as no availability in UK.

As it stands I believe the wing is yet to be tightened and the chrome is off - it is with the repairer.

Must mind and post when I get it back!

On my car, it's just a length of piping with a tail (cross section's a bit like a sperm) to fill the gap between the centre and side panels. I reckon you might be able to duplicate it with a short length of tubular draft seal (B&Q used to sell something appropriate) sprayed with plastic primer and top coat. I don't recall how it's fixed - you might need glue.
