Door hinge wear

I have slight wear on my drivers side door hinges and I see these units are difficult to obtain. Apparently grublocker did refurbished once but I cannot see any on their site. Since I have had the car I have periodically lubricated all hinge joints, but I would like to obtain the best closing action of the the doors. Has anyone fitted an extra shim to slightly raise a door. I have tried adjusting the striker plate but any position from where it is now seems to make it worse.

What I did with mine was to have the hinges drilled out and inserts put in with new hinge pins. I had a friend of mine who has an engineering shop do it.
Another option is to find one from a left hand drive country as your driver's door will be their passenger and so will be less worn. American eBay perhaps?
Grublogger is no longer breaking cars as Graham has retired but is selling the existing stock under the XJS Stuff site.

I aware of your options and I can see the logic of using a passenger side hinge as they do not wear as much. I may try this but it is a gamble on the condition of the hinge you receive. I have a friend also that can drill mine out, and again this is could an option to this issue. As it is a small amount of wear I am hoping for a reasonable easier fix, but as you know with classic cars usually your options end up more complicated.
