Wing mirror attachment

Hi all,

The mirror plate in my drivers' side mirror is wobbling excessively, particularly on motorways. I suspect it might fall off if I don't tackle it .

How is the mirror plate actually secured to the housing, is it double sided Scotch Tape like most mirrors? I don't want to pull on it until I'm certain.

I could either tell you to wrap some duct tape around it or............tell you that it's held on by 3 plastic push fit ball connectors that are a pain in the arse to get them all in at the same time.
The most likely issue is that one of these 3 ball connectors has come loose.
