XJS 92 Facelift drivers door stuck.

Hello Folks,
My 92 XJS 4.0L has the drivers door stuck closed. I can work the lever from inside and can hear the latch mechanism trying to release but it wont. Have tried WD40 but no luck as yet. Is it possible to remove the inner panels with the door closed? OR does anyone have any ideas on how to get at it. Any help appreciated. Rgds.

No doubt you have sorted this by now, but in any case it may help others to know that the door cards can indeed be removed if the door is locked shut. It's a little fiddly and you need to bend the card to release it, but it can all be done without causing damage. From then on you will have access to the offending parts - it can be tricky if you need to release the door locking pin, but again it can be done with patience and a long screwdriver.
