Behind front bumper maintenance

While the radiator was out recently, it was a good opportunity to do some work at the front. The bumper, grilles and headlights were removed revealing some of the voids and places where corrosion hits.

I have been here before years ago and coated all these hidden areas in Waxoyl so while it all looked grim with dirt it was well protected. There was a couple of small places where rust had started away from the wax treatment so these were corrected. Any other non-visable spaces were given additional wax treatment.

The headlights are held in by three spring clips which can be a pain to locate correctly, I noted that some of the plastic locators had worn and should really be replaced but of course there are now unavaliable new and good used ones are expensive. If they start to fail to hold the lights I might have to look at how to repair more closely.

Hi,
I removed one of my headlights earlier this year and had difficulty with refitting it due to the spring loaded adjusters being worn. I saw these for sale £27 for 3 and are remanufactured, so I decided to buy as they are a rare to find. I have yet to fit them, so at this moment I cannot state whether they are good quality. My concern is if I take off the headlight again I might damage the brackets on the rear of the headlight. My hope is that if I have to take off the headlight again the process would be easier with new adjusters. I would appreciate any tips with fitting pre facelift headlights
