Celebration coachline spec

Hi all,
With the 4.0l Celebration models, Jaguar introduced the one-colour coachlines.

Who can tell me, what dimensions these coachlines have? Would be great to know how thick the two lines are and how far they are apart.

Hi Peter - the coachlines on the Celebration models were hand-painted so will inevitably have a certain amount of individuality.
If it helps I'd be happy to measure mine and post a picture or two.

Peter,

The later coachlines are painted rather than tape. I don't know if it gives you a precise mask for the line thickness but Jaguar used a masking tape part number JLM 11829. It's still available from Jaguar at £32. At that price it makes me think that it must give you the precise pattern for the coachline.

Hi,
I saw the masking take and that's what really confuses me. The coachline on the 1995 Celebration I used to own started to slightly peel off at the back end of the front wing. I am pretty sure this wasn't painted.
Anyways, can you please post a picture and the measurements David?

Just a thought: are you enquiring for your 94 AJ16 car? In the UK, that car wouldn't have had coachlines at all. I don't know if overseas spec cars were different, but no lines on UK cars (I have one like this).

Hi Paul,
You are right, my car is exactly as yours: UK spec MY1994.75 with no coachlines.
Just considering options at the moment as I think the coachlines really suit the XJS...

i would ( if you want to add the coach lines ) buy the masking set as listed above

and get a local sign writer to come and paint them on the car, ( asking if he has done any before ? )

you may have to get the paint colour matched beforehand though

I offered to measure my coach lines and post some pictures and then promptly forgot! Senior moment I guess!!
The rough measurements are
Top stripe 3.25mm
Gap between 3.25mm
Bottom stripe 2mm
