window leaks

I have a 1989 XJ-S convertible it has been restored and I have lingering problem. When the new doors were fitted drivers door is fine, but the passenger window glass does not rise in line. I therefore have a gap in the upper most forward corner, but where the window meets the rear small window its a perfect fit! The company who did the work say they have no idea how to align the window, but there must be an adjustment - can anyone advise please?

Just had a quick look at the workshop manual and YES the door glass is adjustable, both horizontally and vertically. I have to say I'm disappointed to hear the "restorer's" response. I would have been tempted to mistype the sentence "they have no idea how to align the window", and accidentally miss the last five words.

If you have the cdrom or manual take a look at "DOOR GLASS ADJUST" (its page 112 in supplement C of my manual). You will have to remove the door trim pad and it recommends two pairs of hands. It reads as though this is a job that requires patience and tenacity to complete. Maybe one of the other members has done this already and can offer some advice?

Thanks I really appreciate your quick response. The company who restored teh car a a major independant concern, but their customer service was lets say in need of some review!!
