Sliding Sunroof on a 1984 HE?

A bit of help please, Guys and Girls,

One of our members is having problems trying to locate parts for a sunroof that is fitted in his 1984 HE Coupe.

The sunroof was apparently fitted after the car was built but is a professional installation. It is a slide-only mechanism controlled by a rocker switch mounted by the rear-view mirror. The roof panel is body-coloured and the rooflining is professionally refitted to give a smooth appearance on the inside.

I've never seen an early car with such a sunroof and I'm struggling as to how to advise the owner at this time.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of who might have fitted such a roof? The owner is not aware at this stage of any makers markings on the mechanism.

Without further info I think you could be struggling.......
Easiest way forward I think would be to take the car to a specialist in period sunroofs.eg Webasto, Britax etc. and let him have a look, he'll proably ident it in seconds
